Molecular man does the dirty deed with his lady friends by hydrolysis

and transesterification (see results). Hydrolysis is a reaction where bonds are broken

up by their reaction with water, and the H and OH of water are added to atoms that

were in the bonds broken by the reaction.

Transesterification is the process in which an ester group is exchanged

with that of another, higher alcohol to form a new ester.
