HONORS BIOLOGY GROUP SIXTEEN

This rockin' group has spent the last semester bringing you the latest in information about West Nile Virus and how it is detected. After we are finished with this project we will move onto solving world hunger and finding a cure for cancer. . . that is once we have finished our finals.

(From Left to Right)
Bottom Row: Anna Stagner, Kris Ratzlaff, Judson Ward
Top Row: Michael Miller, Richard Gilmour, Mike Jorishie
Unfortunately Matt Corvo is not in the picture as he was out saving the world this evening.

Matt Corvo

Year: Freshman
Major: Italian
Contribution to Project: Learning about how WNV is detected using different equipment, and how these differences can effect time, money, and precision of results. Unfortunately Matt didn't make it to a lot of meetings, however what he lacked for in physical form, he made up for in charisma, creativness, and sleep!
Interesting Factoid:Although taking Honors Biology, Matt's true passion lies in the art form of potatoe cannons and online poker. Other hobbies include running, bicycling (both road and mountain) and scaring people. At a young age Matt became a proficient compromiser with his parents and now that he has matured his skills, wants to study abroad, and eventually live in Italy, where his whole family originated.

- Astronauts cannot burp in space as there is no gravity to separate liquid from gas in their stomachs.
- In a group of 23 people, there’s a greater than 50% chance that at least two will have the same birthday

Kris (or Kristina) Ratzlaff

For this webpage Kris attended all but one meeting (sigh – chem test the next day). She helped Judson do the summary of the Detection of IgG and IgM paper as well as “Krisified” many of the definitions found in the glossary page, ‘cause no plagiarism was allowed.

Kris is a Veterinary Science major and hopes to work in a zoo someday. She spends her time doing homework, watching TV, doing homework, going to movies, doing homework, hanging out with her cat, and doing homework. Before college, she spent her time reading, running, doing art, and (alas) doing homework.
