For many athletes, especially those who compete in endurance sports, drinking liquids that will replenish the amount of carbohydrate being used by the body is essential. If this does not happen, the athlete can become dehydrated and fatigued very quickly, as if evidenced by the paper dicussed in the other sections of this web site. The following is a list of many popular sports drinks from around the world and the amount of carbohydrate as well as calories found in each. When choosing a sports drink, a person must look at several factors. Not only does the drink have to have the necessary nutrients, but it should also taste good. The most successful drinks on the market today, such as Gatorade and All Sport, combine these two factors.
